“MAA” is the Mina Al Ahmadi refinery and one of the largest refineries in the Kingdom of Kuwait.

The refinery is operated by KNPC, the Kuwait National Petroleum Company. Built in 1949, MAA has been continuously extended and refurbished to become one of the largest refineries in the Middle East region today. In 2021, one more extension project was realised in the refinery. For the renewal of the systems for uninterruptable power supply (UPS), Statron was chosen. Statron is a well-established brand for supplying high quality and reliable UPS systems. Statron’s UPS are especially used for power supply systems, infrastructure applications and systems in the oil and gas industry. For the MAA project, more than 20 dc chargers and Ni-Cd battery banks were chosen by KNPC. The dc chargers are of type “BDTe”, the well-established and high quality battery charger of Statron.
