Each year, a number of battery chargers are coming to the end of its lifetime. For the operator of such systems the question arises to order new chargers or to initiate an upgrade of the existing systems. The renewal and upgrade of existing chargers is a clear alternative to completely new systems. Statron has various experiences and has already published a White Paper to that topic.
In October 2021, Statron was successful in executing a complete renewal and upgrade of existing battery chargers in one of the oldest power generation & desalination plant in Dubai. The upgrade was done with Statron’s flagship battery charger, the BDTe.
The desalination plant “K-Station” had 24 systems of AEG battery chargers & UPS. The systems were supplied & installed around the year 2000. The end user was contemplating to replace the complete units or upgrade them. Statron was successful in submitting the most economic proposal for both, replacement of complete systems and upgrade with Statron’s flagship & latest BDTe controllers. With this good proposal in hand, the end user DEWA released the tender to upgrade six of the existing systems to Statron. Although Statron global is experienced in upgrading systems, it was the first major order of that type in the region of Middle East. The Statron ME team did a great job and could finish the renewal and upgrade in time, in high quality and within the cost frame.
We are looking forward to execute the remaining systems at DEWA and to work on much more of such projects.
